14^th Districts Masters, Wardens, and Secretaries Association (MWSA)

July 29th, 2026

Pres R Weston opened the 14^th MWSA meeting at 19:30.

Chap RW Deon Williams led the Lodge in prayer and Bro. President led the attendees in the pledges to the United States and Texas flags.

Bro President introduced the officers of 14^th MWSA. WM Collin Wilson introduced the officers of Hillcrest Lodge No. 1318.  Bro President introduced current Worshipful Masters, 50+ year Masons and Veterans. VP D Ritter introduced dignitaries and Seven Past Presidents.

Bro Secretary informed the brethren that the minutes from June 27^th, 2026, meeting was posted on the website and made a motion for them to be accepted as posted.  Chaplin Williams seconded, the brethren voted by affirmation.  

Bro Treasurer provided a report stating that the current bank account balance is $2,059.57 with only a cash deposit of $85.00 which was donations collected from the providing the 2025-2026 Directory.  Motion to pay bills as they come was made and seconded by Bro. Secretary.

Program:          Elections and Installation Elections:RW Seth Alston was the presiding officer and conducted the elections Robert Weston nominated David Ritter for the position of President.  He was elected unanimously. David Ritter nominated Fred Sloan for the position of Vice President.  He was elected unanimously. Fred Sloan nominated Kerr Morton Jr for the position of Secretary.  He was elected unanimously.

Scott Hill nominated Juan Araiza for the position of Treasurer. Keith Idell nominated Deon Williams for the position of Treasurer. David Ritter nominated Grady Smart for the position of Treasurer. A ballot was taken with Robert Weston, Kerr Morton, RW Terry Popham, John Bowsher, & RW Troy Messick  as the teller committee.  Brother Juan Ariza was duly elected after three votes. Installation The Officers were then installed by Most Worshipful Jim Rumsey President (Pres)          David Ritter Vice-President (VP)   Fred Sloan Secretary (Secy)         K Kerr Morton Jr Treasurer (Treas)         Juan Araiza      Chaplain (Chap)       RW Jeff Frayser Ambassador                George Rutherford

Announcements and calendar events were announced during the counting of the ballots to make good use of the time. This included that the Travelling Gavel is currently at Carrollton Lodge No. 1400 and their stated meeting is the first Thursday of the month. The next MWSA meeting will be Aug  26^th, 2026, at The High Noon Club where two short presentations will be given, one by the High Noon Club and one by Brother President with an Update on the 14th District.

Calls for Sickness and Distress were made and included RWs Sanchez and RW Travis as well as Bro. Livingston who is on the mend; RW Jeff Frazer delivered a closing prayer.

Bro. President Weston closed the meeting at 20:00.
