Pres D Ritter opened the 14th MWSA meeting at 19:49.
Chap RW J Frayser led the Lodge in prayer and Bro. Pres led the attendees in the pledges to the United States and Texas flags.
Bro President introduced the officers of 14th MWSA. Pres recognized WM of Oak Cliff Lodge No 705, who introduced Lodge officers present. Pres recognized veterans and 50+ year members. Bro VP F Sloan introduced dignitaries.
Pres mentioned the unfinished business of the website directory in that there was concern about the personal identifying information that would be posted to such a site. The MWSA will only pursue this if the site is able to be password protected.
Secy K Morton gave Secy report and made a motion to approve the minutes, as posted, which was approved. Treas J Araiza gave the Treas report, which was approved, as presented.
Pres brought forward a discussion to change the rules for the Traveling Gavel. First, Br Treas is proposing we expand the members to capture the Traveling Gavel to also include EAs and FCs of the visiting Lodge. Second, a discussion was held regarding the required number of visiting brethren, with the proposed number of 5. Discussion was held mostly around the number with consensus being allowing EA and FC being a good change. A formal proposal will be brough at the January Meeting.
Chap J Frayser delivered a presentation on Attracting and Retaining New Members. The Basics covered are that Lodges need to be Accessible, Informative, Easy, and Responsive.
Additional information was discussed including the Traveling Gavel still being at Carrollton No 1400, who meets first Thursdays. Next meeting will be joint meeting at TMRC for the Grand Lodge Candidate Forum on October 28th.
A special presentation was made to the Junior Past President Robert Weston.
Various members made announcements regarding upcoming events around the 14th Districts.
Chap led closing prayer and Pres closed the meeting at 20:53.
