Opening Remarks by President Haven- WELCOME EVERYONE TO OUR JUNE 25

VIRTUAL 14TH DISTRICT STATED MEETING ON THE FIRST DAY FOLLOWING ST. JOHN’S DAY OF 24TH JUNE. SOME OF YOU MAY NOW BE AWARE, NO OFFICIAL MEETINGS CAN BE HELD ON ST. JOHN’S DAY. ACCORDING TO THE GRAND LODGE OF TEXAS LAWS, WE ARE REQUIRED TO MEET THE NEXT DAY, SO HERE WE ARE.

I HOPE EVERYONE IS ENJOYING SUMMER, IT IS HERE. I HOPE EVERYONE IS FEELING GOOD AND BEING SAFE WITH THE CURRENT SITUATION WE ARE ALL IN… BOTH GOOD AND BAD. I WILL LEAVE IT THERE…

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE NEW ELECTED OFFICERS FOR THE NEXT MASONIC YEAR. AFTER THE MEETING TONIGHT, WE WILL SHARE VIA EMAIL THE DATES OF INSTALLATIONS THAT OUR BROTHER AMBASSADOR GEORGE RUTHERFORD HAS COMPILED. PLEASE COMPLY WITH GRAND MASTERS PROCLAMATION.

President Haven led pledges to our flags.

BROTHER VICE PRESIDENT, RW SCOTT G HILL, DISTRICT DEPUTY GRAND MASTER INTRODUCE OUR DIGNITARIES THAT HAVE JOINED US VIRTUALLY THIS EVENING. We had the following DD and DI and other GL Officers in Attendance:

DDGM in attendance were Robert Moore, Scott G. Hill, David Bindel

DI in attendance were Darrel Hefley.

The elected and appointed officers were all present except Secretary

We had a total of 22 present via Zoom tonight.

THE PRESENTATION tonight is “What Makes a successful Lodge?” See ENCL for Power Point.

RW David Bindel led a presentation on realignment of lodges in our district. This was just a start to show that we really need to consider a realignment. It might be best for some DDGMs and DI’s to visit with David as he is in the process of preparing and submitting a resolution for next Grand Lodge session. Great Presentation RW Bindel.

Brother Ambassador shared some dates of the lodge installations. President Haven suggested using our google groups to be shared with all in 14th District.

Next Meeting will be Election and Installation of Officers on July 29, 2020. As of tonight's meeting, the only person who had made themselves available for the open officer is Seth Alston. Please contact RW Scott G. Hill if you have any interest in the elections next month.

Brother Chaplain Kevin Morton closed the meeting with heartfelt prayer.
