14^th District MWSA

Minutes of the Stated Meeting of

June 25, 2025

            On June 25, 2025 at 7:16 p.m., the 14^th District MWSA was opened by WM Jeremy Ketchersid of the host lodge, and President Roger Landry at Carrollton Masonic Lodge #1400, 1617 Kirby Road, Carrollton, TX 75006.  Seventeen Master Masons and no guests were present, it being a meeting designated for only Master Masons.

            President led the meeting in prayer and pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags.

            Officers present were Roger Landry (President), Robert Weston (Vice President), David Ritter (Secretary), Fred Sloan (Treasurer), and George Rutherford (Ambassador).  VP introduced visiting dignitaries:  64^th MWSA President James Kirkpatrick; and Bro. Kerr Morton of the Grand Lodge Education Committee.  Past Presidents, sitting WMs, and District Instructors were recognized by the VP.  50-Year Members and Veterans were recognized by the President, and the WM of the host lodge introduced his officers present.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Minutes for May stated meeting were approved by motion.

TREASURER'S REPORT: $2938.15, no change from last month

OLD BUSINESS: None

PRESENTATION: President discussed books on Freemasonry, and in particular the 1912 Book by C.P. Boone and the wisdom found within; in particular, the portion regarding the duties of lodge Secretary and he recognized Bro. Kerr Morton for his service as the host lodge Secretary and as the presenter of the program.  The material, being appropriate for Master Masons only, is not recounted here. Following the conclusion, President thanked Bro. Morton and presented a token of appreciation on behalf of the MWSA.

President then discussed Masonic mentors, but present and those not with us, and recognized Bro. Kevin Morton with a certificate for his outstanding service as a Masonic mentor with the Outstanding Mentor of the Year award.

ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPCOMING EVENTS:

There will be a July 1^st benefit for Bethany Wildes as she battles cancer, hosted by Plano Symphony Orchestra at Christ United Methodist Church, 3101 Coit Road, Plano, TX at 7:30 p.m.

July Meeting will be at Oak Cliff Lodge #405 for the Election of Officers and Installation.  There was a brief discussion of the voting membership under the bylaws of the MWSA.

64^th MWSA will have election and installation on Monday, July 28^th at Fort Worth Masonic Temple. Meal at 6:00, p.m. Meeting at 7:00 p.m. 

Sickness and distress, including a status on PGM Kirby’s recovery, was given.

The meeting was concluded, peace and harmony prevailing, at 8:10 p.m.
